As an artist, I know people are going to use my designs in a variety of ways. So the intent of my work matters. I want my work to be beautiful, of course, and flexible – which is why I design using printables.
One thing I create my designs to do is encourage…or strengthen…or comfort.
So not only are you adding beautiful decor to your life, you can also add to the positive messages in your home or when giving a gift.
Those ideas can overlap, of course. But our intent can really made a difference.
For example, we all want joy in our Christmas season. Sometimes, though, it can be hard to come by.
So these beautiful watercolor letters can be a wondrous way to welcome Joy into our homes just by decorating with it.
To start with, these letters can simply be printed, framed, and displayed, encouraging your family to experience the joy of the season.
Or you can use the printable file to create something new for yourself. (Check with the designer of your printables, first, however. I allow my clients to use my printable files in these ways, for personal or gift use only.)
For example…
You can print your digital files at different print ratios to perfectly fit a spot on your wall.
When we need more Joy
Sometimes Joy seems a long ways away and we need the strength that comes from remembering that Joy is not just a feeling, it can be a gift.
Here I’ve combined the letters into one word instead of the 3 individual letters. Some of these ideas will require some photo manipulation software, such as Photoshop…or what I use, Gimp, which is free to use.
You can also crop a printable in an unusual way to make a portion of it standout.
Deciding how to print out our printables can be great fun.
And sometimes we can bring comfort to ourselves by creating something beautiful with our heart and our hands. That’s why I’m offering the following.
